For as far back as I can remember I have always loved to draw. I was born in New Hampshire but after a few years and a new baby brother we had to move to the grand ol' midwest and have been here ever since (I really want to move back to the coast though!). I have always been inclined towards craftyness and sketching - and a few years back I actually found some of, what I would assume, is some of my first drawings. Back then they were of kitties, and clouds, and bunnies but I have since grown out of that and broadened my horizons. I do vividly remember loving school projects that involved having to create display boards. I would display the snot out of my topic and love every min of it!
Thankfully my wonderful parents decided to find some extra curricular art classes to help direct and fine tune my creativity. Back when I was around 9 or 10ish they found the most amazing home studio where I could create what I wanted at my own pace. These sessions were the highlight of my week and I totally miss them! After many many weeks and a decade+ later I got married and ventured off on my own.
Aside from the actual technique of oil, acrylic, watercolor, stained glass, etched glass and so on I have learned, and am always, developing my eye for design and style. I love being able to look at something that might normally be cast away as outdated/ ugly and transform it into something new and current. As a current middle class - working gal, I am always working on a budget and trying to find was to reuse/ re-purpose things I already have.
Since being married and a member of the full-time working force, I find that I like to look into products and companies BEFORE purchasing their products. That might be art related supplies, hair product, or even local restaurants. We always seem to be busy so I don't want to potentially waste both time and money on a product that isn't what we need. So on top of artsy related projects I will also give you a heads up on difference products, restaurants, and services that I have purchased and what my thoughts are. I figure everyone should know what they are getting into when they are shelling out their $$$ - I know I like to!
I try to decorate and update our house both with in our budget constraints yet with lots of style. I also try to reuse as much as possible both to cut costs and reduce unnecessary waste. There are so many wonderful finds at local flea markets and antique stores that can update your home with style at a fraction of the price!
Assuming I actually get up the gumption to cook and try out new recipes, I will post pics and steps on those types of adventures as well. I love to bake and cook, really I do, but only when its for an occasion or party. I don't like having to be 50% responsible for eating all the tasty - non healthy yummyness that gets created in the kitchen...hubby doesn't mind as much though!
So that's the long and short, mostly long really.... of what I like, who I am, and where I’m from. I am sure there will be some extra randomness thrown in from time to time - need to keep you on your toes after all! If you have extra questions or thoughts just hit up the contact button and send an email on over. **Scouts honor ** I will do my best to answer each and every email to the best of my ability (I am not currently a scout of anything btw lol).
Thanks for stopping by - I really do appreciate it and all of your lovely comments and thoughts!
