I have a little secret.. I wear bronzer EVERY day. Summer, winter, spring - every day. I wear less in the winter but I still like the slight glow it provides no matter when I wear it. Well my favorite bronzer recently busted into lots of little pieces and so did my heart! Have you ever tried to use powder that is broken? Its a no go for sure! I am trying to save on money so I didnt want to shell out a bunch of $$$ for a new one... so whats a girl to do?!

Well heres the secret - Broken powder + rubbing alcohol = fixed powder! Here are the steps I took to fix a broken bronzer and my favorite all over eye shadow.
I used the end of my eye shadow brush to break up the chunks and loosen any corners. I also ended up using the end of my tweezers.

Bust up the loose corners and break down the large pieces.

Add a couple drops of your rubbing alcohol. The higher the % of alcohol the faster it will dry. It all evaporates in the end so you dont have to worry about it drying your skin out or anything like that.
Make sure all the pieces get in on the alcohol action so that it all sticks together nicely.

Use your finger to smooth it out.

Here is the bronzer and eye shadow all finished.

Once they were all smoothed out I realized just how little there was left of each.... and I wasnt happy about that! So I thought to myself.. self - what would you do to make more for free? Self: use up some of your old make up to make more!! So I went to my make up box to find some other bronzers and eye shadows that were similar in color. Now I dont know about you, but I am a sucker for holding on to make up even if there is only a tiny bit left.... which is why my makeup box is PACKED FULL!!!

After digging around in all the half used eyeshadows and lipglosses I found 2 similiar eyeshadows and bronzers to use!
See how there is one main color almost all the way used up and one or 2 almost completely unused? Yeah I will hold onto those puppies for years.. I just can't pitch them... I might need them someday (they are my weakness thats for sure!)

Gather up your similar items and get ready...

Bust them all up and knock all the edges loose...

Add them all together and and in a few dropw of alcohol. It will look a little poopy at first but I promise it all comes together.

Smooth it all out with your finger and you are done!

I followed the same steps for my eyeshadow.

TA DA! Almost a full bronzer and eyeshadow! I have used them many times and they go on just like a normal powder based makeup should.

In the end this didnt cost me a dime and I was really happy with the way it turned out. I think I am going to try this with some of the other eyeshadows I have to try to consolidate all the half used up trays I have. Give it try - it only took about 10 mins!
